Yes I collect business cards, no I do not have a hording problem, I promise. As a designer I like to have lots of references to go to, and to also show clients who are not sure what they want. It is a great way to bridge the gap between the client and designer and the confusion of understanding each others ideas. If a client is struggling to think of what they want it helps to see some examples to get the ball rolling, its the same for me as a designer. If I am struggling for ideas or can't quite construct the layout in my head it helps to see an example. And so I collect every business card I see, bad and good. I collect the bad one too so I can show the client a good and bad example to convince them that nice subtle type and images work better than pink type with a black stroke going on top of a rainbow, and it shows them that what they think will look boring actually looks smart in most cases. And so hording can be justified if you are a designer, it helps.
