I was reading todays Metro and I noticed this pound sign on an advert. I think it looks awful and is poorly constructed, it looks like an uppercase E however the middle bar is thinner than the rest which already makes it look odd. Then they have added this 180 degree curled over bar which looks awkward and closes the symbol making it hard to read and it makes the rest of the number look odd as you try to read through it, it distrups the fluid flow of your eye when you read. It just looks all wrong and it stands out like a sore thumb, and it has no correlation or similarities to a normal pound sign, it really needs re-thinking.
