After our tutorial on typesetting I took what I learnt about widows and orphans and went back over my Earth Artefact document and got rid of all the widows and orphans in my copy. I simply increased or decreased the tracking till the end lines were big enough to fit in with the rest of the paragraph. However I never went past 10 either way as it would make it too noticeable. I also increased the leading from 12pt to 15pt as the wide gaps will make the short paragraphs easier to read and it will also make it work well on both screen and print. I did not learn this through a tutorial, I was influenced by fiction books and their wide leading.
